- February 1 – Dexter S. Odin becomes the first Fairfax County Attorney.[1]
- February 5 – 18-year-old Wiley Blevins beats 67-year-old Charlie Nicholson to death with his own cane in a wooded area of the Blevinstown neighborhood of Fairfax.[2][3][4]
- February 10 – Circuit Court Judge Arthur W. Sinclair appoints Robert F. Horan, Jr. as Commonwealth's Attorney to replace Ralph G. Louk.[5]
