Events that took place in Fairfax County in February, 1986:
- February 3 – 41-year-old Gerald Bigam unintentionally kills himself and his passenger, 29-year-old Esther Bobcock, when he runs a red light at the intersection of Routes 28 and 50 in Chantilly.[1]
- February 11 – 22-year-old Allen A. Crutchfield is shot in the back of the head and killed outside his Chantilly townhouse by Pagan's motorcycle enthusiast club member Mark Crawn.[2][3][4]
- February 14 – While inspecting the damage to his car from an earlier crash, 34-year-old Norman E. Brissette is mortally injured in a hit and run crash by Lance Corporal Richard H. Lewis in the 9900 block of Richmond Highway in Lorton. His leg torn off and suffering from severe head injuries, Brissette is taken to the Mount Vernon Hospital, where he dies on the afternoon of February 17.[5][6]
- February 16 – As she walks along South Kings Highway in Alexandria, 52-year-old Maria M. Sandy is struck and killed by car driven by a 37-year-old woman. Sandy is taken to the Fairfax Hospital, where she is pronounced dead.[6]
