- March 13 – A Fairfax County jury takes 35 minutes to find 16-year-old Thomas L. Grogg guilty of murder, robbery and use of a firearm for killing 28-year-old Hallie Hollis in Lorton on October 20, 1985.[1]
- March 29 – 28-year-old John J. Goodwin is shotgunned to death in Chantilly by 29-year-old Anthony Raffo, a member of the Pagan's motorcycle enthusiast club.[2][3]
