- October 22 – After assaulting his former girlfriend at gunpoint, then stabbing her, 38-year-old security guard Esdibar Rosero commits suicide at the Tysons Corner Center by shooting himself in the back of the Lenkersdorfer jewelry store.[1]
- October 22 – Josuel P. Galdino is sentenced to 16 months in prison by Judge Arthur B. Vieregg for unintentionally killing Fitsum Gebreegziabher on February 29.[2]
- October 26 – Supervisor Gerry Connolly is found not guilty of leaving the scene of a May 14 accident in Tysons Corner.[3]
