Events that took place in Fairfax County in September, 1991:
- September 6 – Fairfax County Attorney David T. Stitt announces his resignation, effective November 8, to become a partner in the firm of Venable, Baetjer and Howard in their Tysons Corner office.[1]
- September 6 – 28-year-old Steven C. Intachit fatally shoots his 24-year-old girlfriend Jeanette W. Zarou, then commits suicide in the bedroom of his home at 3500 Courtland Drive in Falls Church.[2][3][4]
- September 9 – Upon learning that his 44-year-old wife Esther intends to leave him, 35-year-old Arthur N. Schneiderman chases her and her daughter from the house at 4016 Javins Drive in Franconia with an axe, striking her once on the shoulder and causing her to fall from the second floor. He then pours gasoline all over the second floor of the Alexandria-area house and sets it alight, burning himself to death.[5]
- September 15 – 21-year-old Martin Mendoza-Argueta is shot to death by Jose L. Lino in the Seven Corners area of Falls Church.[6][7]
- September 19 – 19-year-old Robert R. Redfearn's second trial for fatally shooting 17-year-old Robin M. Anderson in Alexandria on November 3, 1990 ends in a first-degree murder conviction.[8]
