- January 25, 1993 – Mir Aimal Kasi, a Pakistani national, opens fire on a line of cars waiting to enter the Central Intelligence Agency's Langley headquarters. Kansi kills 28-year-old Frank Darling and 66-year-old Dr. Lansing H. Bennett, and injures Nicholas Starr, Calvin Morgan, and Stephen E. Williams.
- January 25, 2001 – 15-year-old Jose Rodriguez, a member of the MS-13 youth organization, is convicted of second-degree murder for fatally stabbing 22-year-old Mario A. Rubio-Martinez in the parking lot of the Culmore Shopping Center in Falls Church on July 30, 2000.
- January 25, 2002 – Jong Duk Choi is sentenced to probation and fined by Judge Dennis Smith for his part in the March 3, 2001 beating death of Sea-Hwan Chang.
