- May 27, 1956 – The Emmanuel Lutheran Church is formally organized in Vienna as a unit of the American Lutheran Synod.
- May 27, 2011 – 18-year-old Gbassay Koroma settles an argument with his father, 40-year-old Francis Koroma, by stabbing him at their apartment at 5108 Woodmere Drive, #102 in Centreville. The elder Koroma is taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he dies the next day.
