- March 5 – The resignation of Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Daniel A. Domenech becomes effective.[1]
- March 5 – Fairfax Circuit Court Judge Kathleen H. MacKay sentences 31-year-old Marlo L. Small to 38 years in prison for murdering his ex-wife Michele I. Quiles as she sat in her car in Annandale on April 24, 2002.[2]
