Mark P. Pfeiffer

Detective Mark P. Pfeiffer (1963 - ) is a detective with the Major Crimes Division of the Fairfax County Police Department.

One of 6 children, Pfeiffer joined the department in July 1986.

Detective Pfeiffer started investigating cold cases for the FCPD in 2001 and in 2004 became the first full time detective on the department's new cold case squad for sex crimes.[1]

In January, 2007, detective Pfeiffer became a homicide detective. It was in this role that in 2009, Detective Pfeiffer received the Homicide Investigator of the Year award from the Virginia Homicide Investigators Association for his work investigating the July 24, 2009 murder of Chung A. Auh.[2]

In addition to his work with the FCPD, Detective Pfeiffer holds a top secret clearance and is an investigator with OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation, CACI International, and a Facility Security Officer and senior associate at Frontline Homeland Security.
