Reston District Station
The Reston District Station of the Fairfax County Police Department is commanded by Captain Ron Manzo.
The Reston District station came about at the request of Supervisor Martha Pennino. In 1976, Chief Richard A. King assigned Captain Daniel W. Kriss to the job of planning the facility, which he in turn delegated to Lieutenant Kelly Coffelt.[1]
The station opened on May 22, 1976 in a rented space in a commercial park at 11415 Isaac Newton Square in Reston, under the command of Captain Kriss.[2]
Upon the retirement of Captain Kriss, Captain Donald C. Schrum became the commander of the station in May, 1979.[3]
In June 1981, Captain Carlton King became commander of the station.
In February of 1985, the station moved to more permanent headquarters in the North County Governmental Center.[2]
In March 2011, Captain Andre R. Tibbs took command of the station.[4] Upon Captain Tibbs' retirement, Captain Mike Wall took command on March 9, 2013.[5]
Funded by a 2006 bond referendum, construction began on a new $18 million station on March 25, 2013.[6][7]
Captain Ron Manzo took over command of the station on March 1, 2015.[8][9]
