- April 6, 1940 – 32-year-old carpenter Stanley Webley is fatally shot in an alley beside the Herndon National Bank in Herndon.
- April 6, 1968 – The first Roy Rogers Western Roast Beef Sandwich restaurant formally opens at the intersection of Leesburg Pike and South Carlyn Springs Road in the Bailey's Crossroads region of Falls Church.
- April 6, 1970 – 11-year-old Pamela G. Marshall is stabbed to death by her 15-year-old neighbor when she surprises him burgling her apartment at 7316 Lee Highway in Falls Church.
- April 6, 1975 – The body of 17-year-old Farnum L. Burton is found in a pond off of Gunston Road. Burton had been shot 6 times, wrapped in chains from the waist down, and rolled in a blanket before being dropped in the pond. Burton was not identified until almost a year later, when an aunt recognized a picture published in the Alexandria Gazette.
- April 6, 2002 – 37-year-old Patricia A. Bentley is strangled to death in her townhouse in the Brookfield neighborhoood of Chantilly by her 32-year-old ex-boyfriend, Charles W. Helem.
- April 6, 2008 – 29-year-old Moises Chirinos-Lopez is stabbed to death in Lincolnia by 35-year-old Edis Aldolfo Reyes to settle an argument.
