- March 18, 1933 – 45-year-old John Scott jumps from a fast-moving passenger train, the Number 29, near Burke Station and is mortally injured. He dies from his injuries before he can reach the hospital.
- March 18, 1955 – 17-year-old Robert L. Sigmon shoots his aunt, 35-year-old Isabel Harris, to death in the bedroom of her home in the Jefferson Manor neighborhood of Alexandria.
- March 18, 1990 – 34-year-old Henry L. Boone is shot several times and mortally wounded at 3804 El Camino Place in Alexandria. Boone is taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he dies on the morning of March 22.
- March 18, 1992 – 45-year-old Marilyn M. Bandera is stabbed to death in her home at 6405 10th Street in Alexandria by Mack Reaves, III.
- March 18, 2000 – 62-year-old John W. Bannister is beaten and strangled to death in his apartment at 8512½ Richmond Highway in the Mount Vernon area of Alexandria by Stephen M. Lineham and Paul R. Pisacane.
