- March 6, 1976 – 36-year-old Dennis Gildea, 22-year-old Patrick T. Marcil, 19-year-old Richard H. Morefield, Jr., and 23-year-old Edward Nakpodia are shot and killed at the Roy Rogers restaurant at 6227 Little River Turnpike in the Brighton Mall Shopping Center in Alexandria during a robbery by James L. Breeden. Nakpodia's 22-year-old wife Julie is shot as well, but survives her injuries.
- March 6, 1977 – 22-year-old Ursula M. Miltenberger is abducted, beaten, and stabbed to death in a field in Burke by Montie R. Rissell.
- March 6, 1990 – 53-year-old Richard Schaefer is shot to death by his estranged wife, 46-year-old Patricia S. Schaefer, on the front porch of her home at 3908 Prosperity Avenue in Fairfax.
- March 6, 2000 – While walking home from work, 19-year-old Israel Kear is shot to death by Troy Giles during an early-morning robbery in Alexandria.
- March 6, 2002 – 60-year-old Leslie E. Beesley is beaten to death in his Hybla Valley home at 3109 Kingland Road.
- March 6, 2005 – 20-year-old Brendan H. Tash is shot to death at a party at 6210 Cardinal Brook Court in Springfield when 19-year-old uninvited guest Durrell M. Pretty is asked to leave and decides to break up the party by firing a handgun into a crowd of partygoers.
