- September 11, 1990 – Fairfax Circuit Court Judge Thomas J. Middleton sentences 23-year-old Venancio Romero Cabanas to 12 years in prison for the murder of Karl A. Bodden in Centreville on June 19.
- September 11, 2006 – Jayant Kadian pleads guilty to second-degree murder for stabbing his mother Kiran 23 times in the kitchen of the family home at 10005 Thompson Ridge Court in Great Falls on March 24, 2005.
