Maggie A. DeBoard

Colonel Maggie A. DeBoard is the Chief of Police for the town of Herndon.

Colonel DeBoard began her career with the Fairfax County Police Department in March, 1986, while still a student at George Mason University.[1][2] She graduated that year from GMU with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.

Deboard began her career as a patrol officer at the West Springfield District Station.[2] She would later work at the departments Mason and Mount Vernon District Stations.[2] Her career also included a four-year stint as a narc.[2]

After heading the Special Operations Division of the FCPD for 4 years, Captain DeBoard became the commander of the Franconia District Station in 2005.[2]

DeBoard's last position with the FCPD was as the Deputy Chief of Police for Investigations/Operations Support.

On February 22, 2012, Herndon Town Manager Arthur A. Anselene announced the selection of Colonel DeBoard as the new Chief of Police for the Herndon Police Department, replacing Colonel Toussaint E. Summers, Jr..[3] DeBoard was sworn in by Circuit Court Clerk John Frey on March 6.[4]
