Mason District Station

The Mason District Station of the Fairfax County Police Department opened in January 1976, replacing the former Annandale Substation.

From March 2011 to March 2013, the station was commanded by Captain Gun Lee.[1] Ted Arnn had been commander of the station before Lee, who had also worked under Arnn from January 2010 to February 2011 as the assistant commander of the station.[1]

Captain Carol Wilhite took over as commander of the station on March 9, 2013. Wilhite only filled the role for about eight months until Captain David Smith became the commander in January 2014.[2]

With Smith's reassignment to FCPD's Major Crimes Division, Captain Christian Quinn was set to take command of the station, but his duties first as head of security and operations for the 2015 World Police and Fire Games and later as part of Chief Roessler's change team delayed his taking the assignment.[3][4]

Instead, Captain Andy Hill served as interim commander until Quinn was finally able to take over the station in February 2016.[4]

Ultimately, Captain Quinn would serve only seven months at the station before he was promoted to major in September 2016.[5] Captain Thomas J. Rogers, previously the staff duty officer in charge of nighttime patrols for FCPD, took command of the station.[6]
