- January 19, 1932 – 5-year-old Edwin O. Dawson is killed in Fairfax when he runs across Lee Highway and into the path of an automobile driven by 20-year-old Marshall Doak.
- January 19, 1975 – 46-year-old Jesse T. Shriner is stabbed to death by 16-year-old Paul S. Sorensen during an early morning robbery at the 7-Eleven at 2915 Cedar Lane in the Merrifield region of Fairfax.
- January 19, 2009 – After attempting to rob a 20-year-old man in the Rose Hill section of Alexandria, 19-year-old Kyle Pforr dies of stab wounds at the Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.
- January 19, 2014 – While walking to mass at the Saint Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, 74-year-old pediatrician Dr. Thomas J. Sullivan is struck and killed by a 2008 Mazda 323 as he attempts to cross Old Keene Mill Road.
