- July 31, 1984 – 35-year-old Charles R. Davis, Jr. is convicted of murder for fatally shooting 25-year-old Eva D. Smith in her apartment at 2789 Hollywood Road in the Wexford Manor Apartments in Falls Church on May 21.
- July 31, 1989 – Eugene Turley is convicted of first-degree murder for the December 6, 1988 murder of Dorothy A. Peterson over a $75 drug debt.
- July 31, 1993 – 17-year-old William W. Crocker, IV is shot in the head and mortally wounded by 19-year-old Rick E. Herring at a construction site in the 7500 block of Dudrow Road in Springfield.
- July 31, 1995 – 18-year-old Sheron Montrey enters an Alford plea and is convicted of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in a felony by Judge Gerald Bruce Lee for her role in the November 17, 1994 murder of John F. Baumgardner in the parking lot of the Fair Oaks Mall.
- July 31, 1999 – 16-year-old Luis Ernesto Villanueva is fatally stabbed in the Lincolnia area of Alexandria. Villanueva is taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he is pronounced dead.
- July 31, 2015 – 33-year-old Eric J. LaRocque is shot to death in a bedroom of his home at 1822 Midlothian Court in Vienna.
