- May 7, 1969 – 31-year-old Earl J. Scott pleads guilty to second-degree murder for fatally stabbing his 27-year-old wife Mattie in Alexandria on January 20.
- May 7, 1975 – 20-year-old Bobby Poole pleads guilty to charges of murder, robbery and maiming for killing 34-year-old Donald S. Monsky and shooting 23-year-old David Pitt during a rip-off in Great Falls on November 16, 1974.
- May 7, 1991 – 14-year-old Summer Lawhead is shot in the face with a .303 Enfield rifle by her 16-year-old boyfriend Marcus Fossett at his family's house at 2607 Beacon Hill Road in Alexandria.
- May 7, 1994 – 55-year-old Marvin B. Greenwell is stabbed to death in his Huntington apartment by Leslie E. Carver as part of a robbery.
- May 7, 1999 – Matthew Harper is sentenced to 35 years in prison by Circuit Court Judge Michael P. McWeeny for the 1995 murder of his sister, Anne, and for subsequently setting the family home at 10985 Ryers Place in Fairfax on fire.
