Timothy J. Thomas
Timothy J. "Tim" Thomas is the principal of Annandale High School.
Thomas was born and raised in Virginia, graduating from Oakton High School.[1]
Thomas graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Spanish in 1991 and later added a master's degree in Cirriculum and Instruction in 1995.[1]
Thomas started his career with Fairfax County Public Schools as a Spanish teacher at Centreville High School in 1992.[2]
In 2000, Thomas became an assistant principal at Centreville, moving to Westfield High School in 2002.[2] When Principal Michael Campbell moved to Centreville in 2006, Thomas became the new principal.[2][1]
After nine years at Westfield, Thomas became principal of Annandale High School on August 4, 2015, following the retirement of Vincent J. Randazzo.[3][4]
Awards and Honors
Thomas was named FCPS Principal of the Year for 2013.[5]
Thomas was also the recipient of one of the Washington Post's Distinguished Educational Leadership Awards in 2013.[2]
