- February 1 – 69-year-old Basil Knick is killed by 59-year-old Darryl Barnes when Barnes strikes Knick with his car on Fox Mill Road in Reston.[1]
- February 2 – 54-year-old Richard Hanson is convicted of shooting and killing his 75-year-old father Gary as he napped in the family home at 7628 Chancellor Way in Springfield on July 19, 2011.[2]
- February 3 – Tony Tong is sentenced to 30 years in prison by Judge Lorraine Nordlund for fatally shooting his wife, Kathleen Tran, in the family home in Chantilly on October 22, 2010.[3]
