- February 15, 1903 – The Florida limited express train is wrecked on the Southern Railway near the Ravensworth Station, killing Engineer Thomas J. Purvis and fireman Walter Wigginton. Inspection shows that the switch on the track was deliberately opened, causing the train to divert onto a spur before it crashes down an embankment.
- February 15, 1966 – 35-year-old Patricia R. Steele is shot and mortally wounded by her ex-husband Herbert at her home at 6925 Oak Ridge Road in Falls Church. Steele manages to stagger to a neighbor's house before collapsing and is taken to the Fairfax Hospital, where she dies.
- February 15, 2010 – 37-year-old Nathan N. Smiler is shot in the head by his girlfriend, 31-year-old Caralee Cottle, in the basement bedroom of his house at 8317 Little River Turnpike in Annandale.
