- February 14, 1964 – 40-year-old Judith E. Cox fatally shoots three of her children: 14-year-old Danny, 11-year-old Laurie Beth, and 4-month-old Timothy, and mortally wounds the fourth, 2-year-old Joe, before committing suicide in the family home at 421 Carolyn Drive in the Sleepy Hollow neighborhood of Falls Church.
- February 14, 1986 – While inspecting the damage to his car from an earlier crash, 34-year-old Norman E. Brissette is mortally injured in a hit and run crash by Lance Corporal Richard H. Lewis in the 9900 block of Richmond Highway in Lorton. His leg torn off and suffering from severe head injuries, Brissette is taken to the Mount Vernon Hospital, where he dies on the afternoon of February 17.
- February 14, 1991 – A 20-foot-high cinderblock wall being constructed for a Service Merchandise store in Chantilly collapses from a gust of wind, mortally wounding 34-year-old William Dixon and injuring 9 other men. Dixon is taken to the Fair Oaks Hospital, where he dies of head injuries. The building was being constructed under the supervision of Keystone Builders, which was the general contractor for the project.
- February 14, 2008 – The AMC Springfield Mall 10 movie theaters close.
