This Day In Fractured Fairfax:July 24
- July 24, 1980 – 19-year-old Groveton High School dropout Robert W. Staudaher is shot and mortally wounded by Fairfax County Police Sergeant Daniel Grimes when he emerges from a second floor bedroom firing a .30 caliber rifle following a six hour standoff at the family home at 7401 Range Road in Mount Vernon. Staudaher is taken to the Mount Vernon Hospital, where he dies shortly thereafter.
- July 24, 2007 – The 1930's era Thelma's Country Store at 10200 Colvin Run Road in Great Falls is demolished.
- July 24, 2009 – In an attempt to get her to divulge the combination of a safe containing $140,000, 53-year-old acupuncturist Chung A. Auh is murdered at her home at 4119 Hummer Road in Annandale by 47-year-old Danny Kim and his brother.
