- July 25, 1980 – 34-year-old Richard L. Whitley strangles and cuts the throat of his neighbor, 63-year-old Phoebe Parsons, then strips her naked and sexually abuses her corpse before ransacking her home at 7718 Lisle Avenue in the Pimmit Hills neighborhood of Falls Church.
- July 25, 2012 – 25-year-old Alexander A. Rios fatally shoots his roommate, 43-year-old Ihab R. Qutob, then shoots and mortally wounds himself in their shared condo at 3051 D Trevor House Drive in Oakton. Rios is taken to the hospital, where he dies.
