- November 10, 1981 – Acting on a phone tip, Fairfax County Police spend several hours digging around a partially demolished house on Moncure Avenue in Bailey's Crossroads before finally discovering the skeletal remains of William H. Miles, Jr..
- November 10, 1982 – 18-year-old dropout James Q. Stevens enters Lake Braddock Secondary School with a rifle and takes Principal John W. Alwood and several others hostage in a standoff that lasts 21 hours before Stevens finally surrenders.
- November 10, 2005 – 49-year-old Samuel K. Hamlett fatally stabs 41-year-old Lynda A. Meagher to death in his ex-wife Betty L. Talbott's Alexandria apartment at 8436 Graves St #102 to settle an argument.
- November 10, 2011 – Fairfax County Executive Anthony H. Griffin announces that he will retire in April 2012.
