Ruel commits suicide near his home in Herndon the day after his house and storage unit are searched by the Fairfax County Police investigating allegations that Ruel had sexually abused a 12-year-old boy beginning in 2001.
- November 27, 2012 – Dinh Quy, a 62-year-old Alexandria woman, unintentionally kills herself when she crashes her 2009 Toyota Corolla into a tree at the intersection of Rolling and Old Keene Mill Roads in Springfield.
