- April 24, 1987 – 32-year-old Yin Ling Lo Wong is shot to death during a botched robbery at her home at 703 Archer Court in Herndon.
- April 24, 2002 – Marlo L. Small shoots his 24-year-old ex-wife Michele I. Quiles to death in Annandale.
- April 24, 2007 – 26-year-old Jason E. Lee pleads guilty to second-degree murder for killing Richard B. Gluckstern in his Fairfax apartment on June 11, 2005.
- April 24, 2011 – 24-year-old Arturo C. Zaldivar unintentionally kills himself when he crashes his 1988 Oldsmobile Bravada into the backyard of a home in the 13100 block of Lou Alice Way in Herndon.
- April 24, 2016 – 21-year-old Hosung Lee is beaten by a mob and stabbed at a party in Herndon. Not realizing that he is mortally wounded, Lee is taken to his home in Centreville by his friends and put to bed, where he dies and is discovered the following afternoon.
