- February 18, 1906 – John F. Beach is killed on the Washington Southern Railway near his home in Lorton Valley.
- February 18, 1940 – 27-year-old Dee Marr VanCott is killed by an early morning fire that starts in his room at the Lord Fairfax Clubhouse at Mount Eagle. 32-year-old Richard Weedon unintentionally kills himself and fatally injures one of his passengers, 33-year-old Thomas Mercer, when he crashes into a telegraph pole on Franconia Road while chasing an engine of the Franconia Volunteer Fire Department on its way to fight the fire. Mercer is taken to Alexandria Hospital, where he dies that evening.
- February 18, 1950 – The Historical Society of Fairfax County, Virginia is organized.
- February 18, 1971 – 36-year-old James E. Teller shoots himself in the head with a .38 caliber pistol while playing Russian roulette at the Lorton Shell Station at 8015 Lorton Road in Lorton.
- February 18, 1989 – 21-year-old Timothy W. Easley is stabbed to death in Centreville. Fairfax County Police investigator Thomas J. Lyons concludes the death is a suicide, but four years later it is proven that Easley's girfriend Candy A. Wharton had in fact stabbed him.
- February 18, 1995 – 20-year-old Marion E. Murphree is shot to death by her boyfriend, 24-year-old Bennett L. May, in the bedroom of her family's home at 3714 Woodland Circle in the Lake Barcroft neighborhood of Falls Church.
- February 18, 2013 – 38-year-old Jennifer L. Pearson is stabbed to death by her husband Timothy Conner in the couple's apartment at 12002 Waterside View Drive, #22 in Reston. Conner then sets a fire in the apartment and flees to Texas, where he commits suicide.
- February 18, 2017 – 29-year-old David Sifuentes is killed when his 2001 Volkswagen, which he had been repairing, rolls, violently throwing him to the ground when it strikes a nearby townhouse in the London Towne West neighborhood of Centreville.
