- July 26, 1902 – The National Bank of Fairfax is organized.
- July 26, 1962 – The 12.4-acre property that will become the Bradlick Shopping Center is rezoned by a 4-3 vote of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
- July 26, 1968 – 31-year-old James F. Clark is shot to death by his wife's boyfriend, 48-year-old Pendleton R. Wilson, outside Wilson's home at 7606 Long Pine Drive in Springfield.
- July 26, 1982 – The Board of Supervisors awards the county's cable TV franchise to Richmond-based Media General.
- July 26, 1991 – 26-year-old Richard Capote, a member of the Fates Assembly motorcycle enthusiast club, is shot and mortally wounded when his assassination attempt on Pagan's motorcycle enthusiast club member Kirby Gallaghan turns into a running gun battle on the Richmond Highway in Lorton. Gallaghan returns fire, striking Capote in the head. Capote is taken first to the Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge, then to Fairfax Hospital, where he dies.
- July 26, 2008 – 18-year-old Centreville High School student Rayoung Kim is mortally injured at her home at 14546 Old Mill Road in Centreville during a kut, a Korean ritual similar to an exorcism. Kim is taken to first to Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, then moved Inova Fairfax Hospital where she dies of her injuries on July 30.
