- June 11, 1977 – 47-year-old Harrison Snell is shot to death by Fairfax County Police Officer Edgar J. Wimberly in front of the Fairfax Heritage Apartments in Annandale after Snell fires three shots at Wimberly, who returns fire.
- June 11, 1987 – While operating a bulldozer, 37-year-old Keith Carpenter, a worker for F. E. Gregory and Sons, unintentionally punctures a buried 32-inch diameter gasoline pipeline, sending a 100 foot high geyser of super unleaded gasoline gushing out of the four-inch hole in the Singleton's Grove neighborhood of Centreville. Thousands of gallons of gasoline flood the area, in places 4 to 6 inches deep, forcing the evacuation of 300 homes in both the Singleton's Grove and the Sunset Ridge neighborhoods, as well as 700 students of nearby Union Mill Elementary School and the 150 construction workers on the site. Nearly 400 firefighters as well as other emergency personnel respond to the scene to effect the cleanup.
- June 11, 1993 – 38-year-old Marine Gunnery Sergeant Dale H. Fredericks is murdered in front of his friend's Penn Daw home in Alexandria by 19-year-old Kamal S. Muwwakkil, who blows Fredericks' head off with a shotgun in order to steal his 1987 Mazda RX-7.
- June 11, 1997 – 21-year-old Christopher David DuBreuil becomes the county's third homicide victim of the year when he is shot in the head outside his home at 6306 Alderman Drive in Franconia by 43-year-old Lonzo E. Blansett.
- June 11, 2005 – 46-year-old Richard B. Gluckstern is strangled to death in his home at 12110 Elm Forest way in the Fair Lakes neighborhood of Fairfax by Jason E. Lee.
- June 11, 2006 – 46-year-old cab driver Parvez Ahmed is robbed and murdered in Falls Church by Ahmed I. Osman.
