Alexander B. Case

Alexander B. "Alex" Case was the principal of West Potomac High School from 2013 to 2017.

Early life and education

Case graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield. He next attended the University of Mary Washington, where he studied political science, history, and secondary education and graduated in 2006 with a B.A.. He would later take a master's degree in Education Administration from the University of Virginia in 2010.

Professional

Case began his career as a social studies teacher at West Potomac High School and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. In 2008, Case and his anime-inspired hairstyle won FCPS' Outstanding New Teacher award for his work at WestPo.[1]

In 2009, Case left the classroom to become a special projects administrator at Carl Sandburg Middle School. Upon completing his master's degree, Case became an assistant principal at West Potomac in 2010.

Case took over as principal of WPHS on December 16, 2013, replacing interim principal Bruce Butler.[2]

In February 2017, Case, along with Assistant Principal Michelle Lyttle, were placed on administrative leave.[3][4] Case subsequently resigned, and took a position as the Associate Director of Instructional Design and Development for Northern Virginia Community College.
