- December 27, 1939 – 19-year-old Delbert Frame is killed by a hit-and-run driver while sledding on Lee-Jackson Boulevard near his home in Pleasant Valley.
- December 27, 1986 – Upset that she intends to break up with him, 19-year-old Mark E. Willey shoots his 19-year-old girlfriend Karen E. Emmert several times in the face at her apartment on Gainsborough Court in the City of Fairfax, killing her, then turns the .22 caliber rifle on himself, shooting himself once in the forehead. Willey is taken to Fairfax Hospital, where he dies early the next morning. Willey's heart is used in the first Washington area's first heart transplant.
- December 27, 2002 – 21-year-old Ngoc Q. D. Nguyen is shot in the head and killed in the parking lot of the Happi Billiards Club in Annandale by Henh Ngo.
- December 27, 2004 – A fire at the parsonage at the Maranatha Baptist Church at 3511 Annandale Road in Annandale kills 42-year-old Terry Maye.
- December 27, 2010 – 20-year-old Jabrill Y. Mara of Springfield is shot and mortally wounded by 40-year-old Charncey L. Daniels. Daniels leaves Mara on the ramp from Nutley Street to Interstate 66 in Vienna. Mara is taken to the Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he dies two days later.
