- June 2, 1958 – 47-year-old Russell Gantt fatally stabs his brother in law, 55-year-old Ted R. Strom, and pistol whips his sister Ruth after she shoot him in the chest at the couple's home on Waples Mill Road in Oakton.
- June 2, 1963 – 27-year-old Marine Sergeant Donald Welch drowns in the recently-opened Burke Lake.
- June 2, 1967 – After a marathon 17-hour meeting in which nearly 40 speakers are heard, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors finally votes 4-3 to purchase the assets of the Alexandria Water Company for a court-ordered price of $45.2 million.
- June 2, 1996 – 26-year-old Douglas Walls fatally shoots his stepbrother, 19-year-old David W. Fuller, and stepfather, 51-year-old James P. Fuller, in his family's Fairfax City home.
- June 2, 2002 – The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors votes 7-2 to pass an ordinance banning people from parking cars on the front lawns of their houses.
- June 2, 2008 – 47-year-old Sang Byung Kim pleads no contest to second degree murder for stabbing his 43-year-old wife Hae Ja Lee to death in the kitchen of their home at 13651 Sweet Woodruff Lane in Centreville on July 4, 2007.
