- June 3, 1953 – 17-year-old George Schindler, Jr. drowns while swimming in Lake Barcroft in Falls Church.
- June 3, 1957 – Fairfax County Police Officer Loren J. Blamer is injured when he crashes his police car while speeding to the scene of another accident.
- June 3, 1961 – 4-year-old Kevin D. Kilduff spoils his family's Saturday outing by drowning in the Fort Belvoir reservoir.
- June 3, 1968 – A special three-judge court empaneled to decide the annexation suit of the City of Falls Church votes 2-1 to deny the city's proposed annexation of roughly 200 acres of Fairfax County.
- June 3, 1994 – 40-year-old James D. Justice, Sr. is fatally stabbed by 25-year-old Silvan N. Bongi to settle an argument at the Annandale campus of Northern Virginia Community College.
- June 3, 1996 – 23-year-old Shirley N. Davis fatally shoots 32-year-old James R. Perrin in her Alexandria apartment. Perrin is taken to the Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he dies several hours later.
- June 3, 2000 – 31-year-old El-Muiz M. Abdu hacks 38-year-old Abdelatif T. Mohamed to death with a meat cleaver in Vienna to settle an argument over a $12,000 debt owed to Abdu.
- June 3, 2011 – Caralee Cottle is sentenced to 3½ years in prison by Judge Michael F. Devine for fatally shooting her boyfriend, Nathan N. Smiler, on February 15, 2010.
