- November 20, 1903 – Thomas Wilson is murdered by Lewis Perry.
- November 20, 1954 – Henry Hill settles an argument with his 34-year-old son Coleman over the use of the elder Hill's automobile by shooting his son to death at his home in Gum Springs.
- November 20, 1930 – Raymond Davis is convicted of voluntary manslaughter for shooting Preston Davis in the head at Jones' dance hall in Baileys Crossroads on September 10.
- November 20, 1963 – The Virginia State Corporation Commission approves the charter of the Guaranty Bank and Trust Company of Fairfax.
- November 20, 1989 – In a 7-2 vote, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approves a scheme to sell $330 million in revenue bonds to finance the construction of the Fairfax County Parkway.
- November 20, 1994 – 36-year-old Robin W. Lawrence is found stabbed to death in her home at 8646 Reseca Lane in Springfield. It is estimated she had been dead for about three days when she was found.
- November 20, 1998 – Fairfax County Sheriff Carl R. Peed fires Deputy Robert Cutts for violating department rules against making public statements.
- November 20, 2006 – 72-year-old Marion J. Newman is beaten and smothered to death in her home at 7102 Reservoir Road in Springfield.
- November 20, 2009 – 71-year-old Emma A. Cabrera is killed when her 2005 Honda Pilot rolls over her outside of her home at 8815 Charles Hawkins Way in Annandale.
- November 20, 2012 – The Fairfax County Water Authority agrees to purchase the City of Falls Church's water utility for $40 million. As part of the deal, Fairfax County will allow 42 acres of property to be annexed by the city.
- November 20, 2013 – 46-year-old ATF agent Paul V. Parisi fatally shoots his wife, 47-year-old Jannine D. Parisi, then commits suicide at the family home at 13497 Point Pleasant Drive in Chantilly.
